ABOUT OUR PROPOSAL
SITE LOCATION
The proposal relates to the lands located : Lands 200m south east of no.3 Creagh Industrial Estate, Hillhead Road, Toomebridge, BT41 3UF. The site extends to just under 6 hectares as illustrated in the image below:
WHAT’S PROPOSED
Creagh Concrete has identified a need for more external storage space to accommodate bulk storage large precast concrete products.
The Proposal will include the following elements:
- Hardstand Yard; the air strip section will be retained as existing, while the adjoining field will be concreted to match the existing level and drainage infrastructure will be installed to prevent surface water rain run off
- Perimeter fencing (include paladin fencing to blend into the landscape)
Details of the proposal are set out below:
This yard is required to meet the growing demand for the company’s new Rapidres building systems. As detailed below, Rapidres is a new bespoke crosswall build systems developed for residential development, which is built off-site at Creagh Concrete facility in Toomebridge and is then assembled onsite. This is designed to offer a fast rack build solution and its success has grown significantly over the last 5 years. Consequently the business now requires this additional storage capacity to store these products prior to bulk transfer to the end user.
Details about why this proposal is needed are set out below.

Investment
This new storage yard will amount to a direct investment of up to £3 million in materials, construction and labour costs. This will have a trickle down benefit to the local economy, through PAYE wage payments, material purchases of stone, concrete and fencing, professional services and spend in local shops and businesses.
This will create new jobs for the management of the yard itself and will help sustain the ongoing employment of the skilled operatives within Creagh Concrete.
